Research revealed to me that my user wanted a torch that was aesthetically pleasing and made a statement. Their favourite design period was postmodernism, and so I moved on to quick sketching to explore ideas. Low-fidelity modelling was next, allowing me to physically explore favourite designs.
After getting user feedback on my models, I developed refined models, narrowing the path of design. During this development process, certain sketches and models were input into Vizcom, allowing me to quickly visualise sketches and models as a final product.
Once I developed my design to its final iteration, I modelled it in SolidWorks, producing technical drawings and renders using KeyShot. Finally, it was 3D printed, providing a physical presentation of the final, fully realised design
This design is a reimagining of a torch through a postmodernist design perspective, designed to be an item that prompts discussion in the user's home.
